Graduated Driver Licence

Nova Scotia has a system with 3 stages :

  1. Class 7: Learner’s Licence. Permits a new driver to drive cars, pick-up trucks, sport utility vehicles and vans seating less than 10 people.
  2. Class 5 N: Newly Licensed Driver’s Licence
  3. Restricted Individual with Condition 47. Has a large letter “R” and special conditions (zero blood alcohol level AND you cannot act as a Supervising Driver for another driver)

You have to graduate from all 3 stages before you can get your regular licence (Class 5). To complete the GDL program present a “Graduate Certificate” from Bolland Driving Solutions to any Registry of Motor Vehicles or Access Nova Scotia.
